R.A. Kartini, the Indonesian woman’s right hero
Raden Ajeng Kartini is a national hero from Jepara, Central Java, Indonesia.
She was born at April 21th, 1879. She was bringing forward a women emancipation,
as well the social status and rights. She make women could studying higher, and
build schools for women. She was actively carrying message women should pursue
their dream and think independently for theirselves.
Which at that time, at 1800th century, women were not allowed to study
higher than man, haven’t had right to choose their own spouse, and
get used only to take care the children and house.
These culture is different like these days, how all the women could
studying higher, working, and be independent for herself.
That is why Raden Ajeng Kartini is one of the most wonderful woman
figure that we did love about.
Trivia.
Her book “Habis Gelap Terbitlah Terang” (From Darkness to Light:
Thoughts About and on Behalf of the Javanese People), was published
by one of her foreign friends, which contains collection of Kartini’s letters.
This title then become famous line from her, “Habis Gelap Terbitlah Terang”.
